Merry Christmas!

Every year for Christmas morning we have my parents come over and they open all of their presents with us and afterwards we have a big breakfast and relax and enjoy everything. My great-grandparents did this with us when I was growing up, and now my parents do it with my kids. I love it and look forward to it every Christmas. This year Jon and I were just letting the girls sleep as long as they needed to since they had been up pretty late the night before. About 7:45 though we heard the doorbell being rang again and again and again. Grandma and Grandpa were here and had assumed we would all be up and at it by then. The girls came running out of their rooms with a daze in their eyes, and struggling to put on their robes. They were so excited to get downstairs to see if Santa had come. They came down and of course Santa had brought the big dollhouse they had both asked for. And he brought a "pee baby". Both girls wanted the baby alive doll that goes potty, Jordyn calls her a pee baby. They were quite excited about the dollhouse and the dolls. They also loved looking through their stockings. Stockings were my favorite part from Santa growing up.

After they finished checking out what Santa brought and Jon helped my parents get their car unstuck from the snow in our driveway, we were settled and ready to open the rest. The girls were very excited about everything this year. Jordyn took her time with each present she opened. She would sit and check it out and play with it until I told her she needed to open another one. Pressley on the other hand loved everything she got, but wanted to keep opening presents non stop. She would just tell me she wanted to open another present. We were all very lucky this year and got some wonderful things. Jon got me some very nice sunglasses I wanted, and he got a new grill for his truck and some toys of course. My mom got us some new dishes so we can have people over and have enough plates for everyone, and she spoiled us with lots more. The girls got a fun cash register and a guitar, an easel to color on and lots of markers and crayons. And Jon's mom got us a Wii which we love. Jordyn is having a lot of fun learning to play all of the games. Thank you to everyone!

After the presents were opened Jon made us all a yummy breakfast and then we all headed out to help get my parents unstuck from our drive way again. The snow that morning was awful. Jon and I spent an hour or so shoveling our yard and the neighbors and then it was back in to relax and play with the girls. Jon's parents came over for a visit and then that night we went to my parents for dinner. We had a very busy day, but it was full of fun and family.
